Smaller voluntary organisations and community groups can access Safe Network to help them provide expert free or subsidised training for their staff and volunteers.  Safe Network is jointly managed by the NSPCC, Children England and the Child Accident Prevention Trust.

Many of the organisations that apply are small and often struggle to find the resources to ensure all their staff and volunteers are fully trained. As part of the initiative which began in 2009, EduCare offer organisations who apply through Safe Network free or subsidised training courses on child protection awareness, preventing bullying behaviour and there is also a certificated test that indicates a person’s level of safeguarding awareness.

To date, EduCare has given away 3,971 free courses worth £98,872 and heavily subsidised a further 16,793 courses to the value of £348,915 (subsidy value). Added together, EduCare’s total contribution is a staggering £447,787 – that’s a lot of free and subsidised training!
