KCSIE 2019 Summary Report

At 12:30am, Wednesday June 26th 2019, the Government published a draft update to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).

Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019 (KCSIE 2019) came just one year after the 2018 update so there was not a large number of changes, but as there were references to specific safeguarding issues such as upskirting and serious violence, knowledge of these key issues is vital.

KCSIE 2019: The impact on schools

As of September 2019, policies and procedures must reflect the KCSIE 2019 changes and staff will need to have read and understood part one of this version.

EduCare's Product Development Lead for Education, Dawn Jotham, reviewed the latest draft guidance shortly after the update was announced, and summarised how it may affect maintained schools, nursery schools, colleges, independent schools, academy trusts, special schools and pupil referral units.
