Course Content

1. What is Development Planning

This module covers what development planning is, what a successful development plan looks like, the development cycle and how to plan, how long a plan lasts and how to implement your plan.

2. Gathering Information

This module covers the process of gathering information and how you can develop a clear understanding of your current position and your school culture and its readiness and capacity for change. 

3. Analysis

This module will cover the need for analysis, how to analyse and areas for analysis. This module will look at the different ways to analyse information that is readily available to you and will help you think about the questions that need to be answered when gathering analysis.

4. Setting Priorities 

This module looks at the prioritising stage once you have agreed your targets. This module will help you consider which developments are the most important to achieve these targets and outcomes and which activities will achieve the desired developments. This will put you in the position to prioritise objectives and strategies within your plan.

5. Writing and Reviewing the Plan

This module will focus on writing a coherent plan which clearly shows the schools priorities and outcomes, how you intend to achieve them, who is responsible, when they will happen, what they will cost and how you will know they were successful.

Test & Certificate

The School Development Planning course concludes with five multiple choice questionnaires with a printable certificate. As well as printable user certificates, your training progress and results are stored on your learning management platform.
