Safeguarding Adults, endorsed by Remploy and the Association of Chief Police Officers, provides the key information needed to help safeguard adults at risk. The four concise learning modules cover the basics of abuse, how to recognise situations where abuse might occur, the signs of abuse, the importance of taking action, and good practice guidelines.

Course Content

1. Understanding the Basics

This module covers what adult abuse is and the forms it can take, along with the sorts of behaviours that may constitute each. This module also covers the factors that can put adults at a greater risk of abuse and the effects of abuse upon the person experiencing it, as well as others such as children and young people.

2. Recognising Adult Abuse

This module covers the types of people who may abuse, why they may abuse and the situations in which it could occur. How to recognise adult abuse and how you should respond if someone confides abuse to you is also covered in this module.

3. Reporting Abuse

This module covers what course of action you should take when a person has confided in you, or what to do if you or someone else has suspicions that abuse is taking place. This module also covers what typically happens after you have reported your concerns.

4. Good Practice Guidelines

This module covers what legislation and guidance exists to help organisations ensure they do not recruit someone who might pose a risk to adults. This module also covers your responsibilities and having a personal code of conduct to ensure your own behaviour is beyond reproach and finally what organisation can do to foster and promote a culture of safety.


Test & Certificate

The Safeguarding Adults course concludes with four multiple choice questionnaires with a printable certificate. As well as printable user certificates, your training progress and results are stored on your learning management platform.
