This EduCare programme has been produced in partnership with The Suzy Lamplugh Trust, the UK’s leading authority on personal safety. The programme is designed to help you and your staff manage personal safety in and around the workplace.
This programme can be completed in either a paper based or online format. The programme is delivered in five concise modules with questionnaires to test understanding.
Module 1 – Introduction to personal safety – the facts
Learn about putting personal safety first, safety at work, who is most at risk and the ways to identify, assess and then put risks into perspective.
Module 2 – Listen to yourself
Explore the physical effects of fear; how compromising your personal safety can affect others and the ways to identify stress and how to respond.
Module 3 – Non-verbal & verbal communication
Look at the differences between non-verbal and verbal communication, how to communicate effectively to achieve objectives and the ways in which to deal with aggression.
Module 4 – Out and about: travel in safety
Identify factors that affect your safety when travelling, what precautions you can take to minimise risk and the ways to maintain your personal freedom and still remain safe.
Module 5 – Working safely in other people’s homes
Examine the risks attached to working in other people’s homes, the strategies you can apply to deal with these risks and the ways in which you can put safety skill into practice.
If you answer 70 percent of the answers correctly within each
questionnaire you will receive a personalised certificate, feedback detailing your scores for each module and a set of answer explanations.
