This EduCare programme provides an authoritative introduction to food safety awareness for anyone working with or near food and drink. Awarded the certificate of Quality and Merit by the Royal Institute of Public Health, the programme delivers essential information and advice.
This programme is delivered in four concise sections with questionnaires and activity sheets to test understanding and is available either paper-based or online. On successful completion of the final proficiency test, participants will receive a personalised certificate.
Section 1 – The need for hygiene & food safety
Learn how to reduce safety food hazards; the importance of personal hygiene and how to carry out a health check.
Section 2 – Keeping clean & safe food preparation
Identify ways of keeping work areas clean; high risk foods and safe storage, cooking and defrosting temperatures.
Section 3 – Preventing food contamination
Understand about bacterial, physical and chemical contamination; preventing cross-contamination and how bacteria spreads.
Section 4 – Making your workplace a hazard free zone
Learn about HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point); preventing or controlling hazards and keeping your workplace hazard-free to reduce or eliminate risks.
In order to complete the programme successfully you must complete the proficiency paper at the end of the programme, if you answer 80% on the proficiency test you will receive a personalised certificate, feedback detailing your scores for each section and a set of answer explanations.
