Supervisory Management - Childcare Plus

This EduCare programme is aimed at managers in childcare who have the special responsibility of leading a team. The programme, which follows the Management Charter Initiative guidelines, is a vital resource in underpinning the knowledge needed for NVQ Level 3 in Playwork and NVQ Level 4 in Early Years Care & Education.
The programme is delivered in eight concise modules with questionnaires and activity sheets to test understanding and is only available in our paper-based format. On successful completion of the final proficiency test, participants will be awarded a personalised certificate.
Module 1 – Teamwork & managing relationships
Learn how to plan and allocate work; provide positive feedback; set objectives for the team and delegate effectively.
Module 2 – Managing yourself
Discover how to use the Johari window to assess your performance; prioritise your workload and improve time management and personal development skills.
Module 3 – Managing people
Explore what your personal requirements are; how to choose and evaluate staff and ways of developing teams and individuals.
Module 4 – Managing activities
Understand effective management, organisation and control; how to meet quality standards and problem-solving
Module 5 – Project management
Identify the key phases of project management; the basics of good communication and your leadership approach and how to improve it.
Module 6 – Managing resources
Learn how to improve financial management by controlling costs and overheads; manage people materials and equipment and be cost-conscious at work.
Module 7 – Quality & energy efficiency
Discover how to set and achieve quality objectives; build in quality assurance and be an effective manager of your energy resources.
Module 8 – Managing information
Explore the eight steps to effective information management; how to plan constructive meetings and what makes an effective and efficient chairmanship
In order to complete the programme successfully you must complete the proficiency test at the end of the programme, if you answer 80% on the proficiency test you will receive a personalised certificate, feedback detailing your scores for each section and a set of answer explanations.
