Planning For Business Plus


Written by experts at the Warwick Business School, this intermediate level learning programme is the next step up from the introductory EduCare Planning for Business programme. Designed to bring maximum benefit to all sizes of business, it provides a useful and lasting reference guide for all those involved in the planning process. It is ideal for business owners, managers and team leaders who want to improve their planning skills. It provides a detailed appraisal of finances, operations, human resources, project planning and much more.
This programme is delivered in eight concise modules with questionnaires and activity sheets to test understanding and is available either paper-based or online. On successful completion of the final proficiency test, participants will receive a personalised certificate.
Module 1 – Planning for success
Learn how to maximise your business potential using the MOPE approach; follow the SMART approach to achieve business objectives and plan for the short and the long-term.
Module 2 – Markets, customers, competitors
Understand how to use a SWOT analysis; the market-place and the importance of marketing; your customers’ needs and how to stay ahead of the competition.
Module 3 – The marketing action plan
Look at the 4P’s of marketing; how to develop the best marketing mix for your business and using the AIDA approach to plan promotional activities to maximise sales.
Module 4 – Planning operations
Examine your operational processes to improve their efficiency; ways of planning and managing more effectively; quality and what the customer requires and how to protect the environment and be energy efficient.
Module 5 – Investing in people
Learn how to build a successful team; review, develop and appraise the team for continual improvement and invest in training.
Module 6 – Project planning
Understand the importance of planning everyday projects to help deliver products and services on time; the balance between demand and capacity and how to use bar charts to plan ahead.
Module 7 – Finance – the big picture
Look at financial planning and how it can help you manage the business; how actions affect profits and cash and effective monitoring and control of cash flow.
Module 8 – Control and communication
Understand how to monitor performance against the business plan; implement a budgetary control system to use resources more creatively and improve communication using simple guidelines.
In order to complete the programme successfully you must complete the proficiency paper at the end of the programme, if you answer 80% on the proficiency test you will receive a personalised certificate, feedback detailing your scores for each section and a set of answer explanations.
