Written by the NSPCC this EduCare programme provides an authoritative introduction to keeping children safe in sport. It is designed for anyone who comes into contact with children through sporting activities and is especially relevant for organisations that already have a child protection policy in place.
This programme is delivered in three concise modules with questionnaires to test understanding and is available either paper based or on-line.
Module One – Understanding the basics
Learn about the different types of abuse – physical, sexual, emotional and neglect; the effects abuse can have on a child; myths and facts about child abuse and managing your own feelings.
Module Two – What to do if you have concerns
Discover how to respond if a child confides in you; the importance of taking action and what to do next; when to share concerns with parents and what happens when you report a problem.
Module Three – Principles of good practice
Understand the principles of safety; recruitment and supervising children and allegations and how to deal with them.
If you answer 70 percent of the answers correctly within each questionnaire you will receive a personalised NSPCC/EduCare certificate, feedback detailing your scores for each module and a set of answer explanations.
