NSPCC Creating A Culture Of Safety

Written by the NSPCC, this EduCare programme is designed for anyone who comes into contact with children through their work or voluntary activities. It contains facts about child sexual abuse, who may pose a threat to children as well as giving guidance on how to create a safe culture for children within your organisation.
This programme is delivered in three concise modules with questionnaires to test understanding and is available either paper-based or online. On successful completion, participants are awarded a personalised NSPCC certificate.
Module 1 – An introduction to child sexual abuse
Learn what constitutes child sexual abuse; why people sexually abuse and more about the myths and facts surrounding child abuse.
Module 2 – The effects of child sexual abuse
Understand how children are damaged by sexual abuse; child sexual abusers operate, including silencing children and sexual abusers receive treatment
Module 3 – Combating child sexual abuse
Identify how to minimise risk and maximise safety; good practice in recruitment, vetting and selection; possible indicators of inappropriate behaviour and what to do and what not to do if you have concerns.
If you answer 70% of the answers correctly within each questionnaire you will receive a personalised NSPCC Educare certificate, feedback detailing your scores for each module and a set of answer explanations.
