EduCare is a brand name owned by parent company de Brus Marketing Services Ltd.
Derived from the Latin word educare, which means ‘to extract or bring out’, EduCare transfers essential information or knowledge and measures its effect. It is as simple as that.
Trading since 1983, de Brus built an enviable reputation as innovators in business-to-business marketing, particularly in the area of relationship marketing. The impressive long term client list included British Airways, British Gas, Marks & Spencer, The Learning & Skills Council, Carlsberg-Tetley, Thomas Cook, London Electricity, Dixons Stores Group, Sony and many, many more.
From the year 2000 the Directors of de Brus decided that with the advent of the new millennium, they would reduce their commercial portfolio and deploy their skills in the community and voluntary sectors.
Since then we have worked in partnership to support specific groups, particularly children and young people. We have been extensively involved with education and Business Links and enterprise initiatives, but we are better known for our EduCare and EduSafe brands.
These are typically used to provide short distance learning solutions to support our work with the NSPCC and other organisations, such as St John Ambulance, Girlguiding UK, Scouts and Ofsted, building awareness of how children and young people may be better protected from harm.
Our work with the NSPCC has, to date, seen over 150,000 people complete our EduCare NSPCC Child Protection Awareness programme; we have an ambitious target of half a million participants by the end of 2010.
Our current portfolio can be seen by clicking on programmes.
These are being developed with a number of key organisations such as the Samaritans and Save the Children and include programmes on vulnerable adults, anti bullying, and children’s rights. We have also been asked to trial programmes on patient care and are developing our work for school governors via the National Governors Association.
Most recently we have been working in partnership with the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE Enterprises) to improve skills with elected councillors and councils throughput the UK.
